CEU Visiting Professor Miklos Haraszti authored a press release in his capacity as the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Belarus. He called on the country to start reforming its laws and practices that have for two decades stifled its citizens' right to freedom of expression.

Hungarian daily Nepszabadsag reports about the AP article ‘Hungary's anti-migrant steps show Orban's right-wing shift’ published on October 15, and quotes Miklos Haraszti, director of research on human rights at CEU’s Center for EU Enlargement Studies. Haraszti says that although the method of the Hungarian Prime Minister for gaining support is to stoke conflict and then pose as the defender of Hungarians, this is the first time he can point to a real human enemy, depicting the migrants as invaders.
