Each year, the U.S. Department of State honors individuals around the world who have devoted their lives to the fight against human trafficking. This year, Hungarian sociologist, human rights activist and former CEU researcher Viktoria Sebhelyi was named one of the Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report Heroes, receiving the Hero Acting to End Modern Slavery Award.

Vera Messing and Zsuzsanna Arendas, research fellows at the Center for Policy Studies, participate in a research project titled “Bridging Young Roma and Business: Intervention for inclusion of Roma youth through employment in the private sector in Bulgaria and Hungary”. The project includes 3 organizations and received a total of EUR1,046,102.62 funding from European Commission’s DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion Program, and will run for 36 months.
