The New York State Education Department (NYSED) has registered two of CEU’s Advanced Certificate programs, in Religious Studies and Science Studies, following the example of the University’s first such program in Network Science. The latest book by Aziz Al-Azmeh, university professor in CEU’s Department of History and director of CEU’s Center for Religious Studies, is a critique of Arabic textual sources pertaining to the history of the Arabs in late antique times, during the centuries immediately preceding Muhammad and up to and including the Umayyad period.
