The CEU Communications, Marketing & Outreach Office advances CEU’s strategic goals by showcasing the activities of the University’s leadership, faculty and staff, along with those of its students and alumni.
We handle CEU's media relations, internal and external communication, branding and visual image. Our team is responsible for managing CEU's central social media, as well as rich media content creation, photography, publications, and branded stationery and merchandise. The directorate also oversees the institutional website and web development. We are the communications liaison with CIVICA.
We work closely with other professional services units, and academic and academic-support departments across CEU to coordinate external communications. We advise faculty, staff, academic departments and research centers on their communications strategies and we provide skills development and training across our areas of oversight. We produce a diverse range of resources to support our colleagues.
The Communications, Marketing & Outreach Office is responsible for instituting editorial guidelines and managing CEU’s visual identity. It oversees use of the CEU logo and related unit logos; the design of the University’s stationery suite; and the branding of diverse print, electronic, display, and other materials. CEU logos and department logos are available on the University's common hard drive under CEU Visual Identity, or can be requested via the Communications Coordinator.
The Communications, Marketing & Outreach Office is responsible for the CEU website. Its Web Unit develops and technically maintains about 100 interconnected subsites, all published via a central content management system. Communications Office staff manage content flow to the institutional website, www.ceu.edu.
The Communications, Marketing & Outreach Office’s media relations activities include connecting faculty members with journalists in need of expert commentary and communicating University news to target audiences worldwide. Staff members also arrange media interviews (print, online, radio, or television), obtain press coverage for events, and announce important news. Have a story? The Communications, Marketing & Outreach Office manages the CEU institutional Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn channels and advises academic, administrative, and research units on developing and maintaining a social media presence. It also is responsible for posting unit news, as appropriate, to institutional social media channels.
The Communications, Marketing & Outreach Office provides shooting, editing, and related services for select projects with an external communications objective and audiences. It also refers community members to appropriate external resources. It maintains the University's YouTube channel. The Communications, Marketing & Outreach Office produces or collaborates closely on University-level publications such as the CEU Annual Report and promotional materials for student recruitment and alumni relations. Staff members are also is available on a limited basis to help units develop publications for non-academic purposes.
The Communications, Marketing & Outreach Office commissions and funds photo shoots for select University activities and refers community members to professional photographers appropriate for CEU work. Units are responsible for funding photography they commission. The Communications Office also maintains a CEU photo archive on Flickr that is password-protected and accessible, on request, to all faculty and staff members.
